Cemig health plan settlement

By Brazil Stock Guide – Ambar Energia has completed the acquisition of four hydropower plants from Companhia Energética de Minas Gerais S.A. (Cemig, CMIG4:BS) for R$52.4 million (about US$9.3 million), strengthening its position in Brazil’s renewable energy market, Valor Econômico reported. The transaction was concluded on October 16, 2025, and involves the Machado Mineiro, Sinceridade, Martins, and Marmelos plants.

The purchase, made through Ambar Hidroenergia, reinforces the company’s growth strategy by expanding its portfolio of renewable assets and consolidating its role as one of the leading private players in Brazil’s energy generation sector.

In a regulatory filing, Cemig Geração e Transmissão S.A. said the sale aligns with its strategic plan to optimize its asset portfolio, improve operational efficiency, and reallocate capital toward higher-return projects. The divestment is part of the state-owned company’s ongoing efforts to streamline its holdings and focus on large-scale ventures.

Ambar Energia, part of the J&F Investimentos group, has been actively expanding across Brazil’s power generation sector, with operations in thermal, hydro, and renewable energy. The acquisition underscores its ambition to strengthen its presence in the country’s electricity market and capitalize on the transition toward cleaner energy sources.
