By Brazil Stock Guide – Azul S.A. (AZUL4) carried a record 23.7 million passengers between January and September 2025, a 5.9% increase compared with the same period a year earlier, according to data from Brazil’s civil aviation agency (Anac). The company surpassed its previous record of 22.4 million passengers, set in 2024, solidifying its position as one of the fastest-growing airlines in the region.

The Viracopos International Airport in Campinas, São Paulo, remained Azul’s busiest hub, handling the largest number of departures and arrivals during the nine-month period. Other major airports for the company include Confins (MG), Recife (PE), Congonhas (SP) and Guarulhos (SP), according to Anac’s report.

Chief executive Abhi Shah said the growth reflects Azul’s disciplined expansion strategy. “We have a responsible approach to investing in routes that meet passengers’ needs, leveraging the strategic location of each hub,” Shah said.

Among Azul’s top-performing routes, Recife stood out as a major connector in 2025, appearing three times among the five busiest routes. The Recife–Viracopos route led the ranking, followed by Viracopos–Confins and Recife–Guarulhos. The routes Porto Alegre–Viracopos and Recife–Confins rounded out the list.
