Petrobras offshore vessel contract

By Brazil Stock Guide – Petrobras Biocombustível, the biofuels arm of Petrobras (PBR), completed its second biodiesel shipment to Europe, reinforcing Brazil’s growing presence in the renewable-fuels market. The company said on Wednesday (10) that it exported 2,500 tons of B100 produced at its Candeias plant in Bahia, destined for Germany’s road-transport segment.

According to the original report from Broadcast, PBIO noted that the fuel was made from technical corn oil, the same feedstock used in its first export in August. The company said the biodiesel cuts greenhouse-gas emissions by 84.8% compared with fossil diesel.

The operation was carried out in partnership with Inpasa, the bio-refiner that also participated in PBIO’s inaugural export via the Aratu port earlier this year. PBIO’s biodiesel director, Flavio Tomiello, said the initial deal created a foundation for expanding the company’s international footprint. “The success of the first operation paved the way for new contracts and strengthened the company’s international presence,” he said.

PBIO, founded in 2008 as a fully owned Petrobras subsidiary, operates three plants — Montes Claros (MG), Candeias (BA) and Quixadá (CE), the latter currently idle.
