By Brazil Stock Guide – Prio SA (PRIO3 BZ) said Tuesday (3) it has obtained an operating license from Brazil’s environmental regulator Ibama for the Wahoo field, clearing the final regulatory hurdle before first oil. The company disclosed the development in a securities filing.
The operating license marks the last required approval for the start of production at Wahoo, which is currently in the final commissioning phase, according to the company.
In September 2025, Prio had secured an installation license for the field’s production development system, as well as authorization to connect the wells to the FPSO Frade. With the issuance of the operating permit, the company completes the regulatory process necessary to bring the offshore asset online.
Prio said the new license enables the start of operations at Wahoo, advancing the project toward production.
