By Brazil Stock Guide – WIKA Group is investing about 100 million reais ($20 million) in a new manufacturing facility in Boituva, São Paulo state, positioning Brazil as the company’s main production and export hub for Latin America.

The German industrial measurement specialist said the project strengthens its regional supply chain and supports a strategy aimed at doubling revenue in Latin America by 2030. The new facility began operations in January 2026 after construction started in December 2024.

The industrial complex occupies a 100,000-square-meter site with about 40,000 square meters of built area and employs roughly 300 people. The design also allows for future expansion, with space for two additional warehouses and more than 40,000 square meters of additional production capacity.

Under the new structure, the Brazilian operation will serve as a manufacturing and export base for subsidiaries in Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Mexico. The move is part of a regional restructuring launched in 2023 that expanded local manufacturing and reduced reliance on imports from other company units.

“The expansion of the Brazilian plant became strategic for the country to take on the role of manufacturer and exporter of the company’s solutions to all of Latin America,” said Ricardo Salgado, WIKA’s vice president for Latin America. “With the MERCOSUR-EU agreement, we expanded our competitiveness, with lower operating costs and faster delivery times within the bloc.”

The plant produces industrial instruments used to measure pressure, temperature, level and flow in manufacturing processes. It also houses calibration laboratories for pressure, temperature, dimensional measurement and SF6 gas.

The facility operates under ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 17025 certifications, enabling the company to supply sectors with strict technical and regulatory requirements.

Industries served include oil and gas, chemicals and petrochemicals, power generation, food production, pharmaceuticals and industrial equipment manufacturing.

In 2024, the company began local production of industrial valves, including monoblock, relief, needle and manifold models, as well as the BGU magnetic switch used for level detection in industrial systems.

In the electricity sector, WIKA also supplies monitoring solutions for insulating gases used in substations, including sulfur hexafluoride (SF6), a key component in power-grid operations and emissions management.

Although WIKA has maintained an industrial presence in the region for years, the new facility significantly expands its operations and includes the creation of a WIKA Service Center to increase technical support capacity.

“Although the industrial structure had existed in the region for years, the new plant represents a significant expansion, with reorganization of processes and the creation of the WIKA Service Center, expanding technical service capacity,” Salgado said.

The site was chosen partly for logistical reasons, including proximity to the city of Iperó, where part of the workforce lives, as well as access to the Castelo Branco highway and connectivity to São Paulo.

The official inauguration of the facility is scheduled for Tuesday (11) and is expected to include global executives from the company, including Group CEO Alexander Wiegand.
