By Brazil Stock Guide – Amazon has announced the hiring of more than 13,000 temporary workers in Brazil for the fourth quarter of 2025 — double the number recruited a year earlier — as the company gears up for what it calls the fastest and largest Black Friday in its history in the country. The seasonal workforce, spread across all 26 states and the Federal District, will bolster Amazon’s 36,000-strong staff base as it races to meet surging demand.
The expansion underscores Brazil’s growing weight in Amazon’s global strategy. The U.S. retailer has invested over R$55 billion in the country over the past decade, funding logistics, technology, and cloud services while expanding its fulfillment network to 250 hubs, enabling same-day or next-day delivery to 100% of Brazilian municipalities.
“Brazilian consumers will experience the most rapid and reliable delivery operation we’ve ever had,” said Fabiano Arroyo, Amazon Brazil’s head of HR operations. “Our model, powered by advanced AI technologies, delivers efficiency for customers and creates career opportunities for thousands of professionals across the country.”
The new hires — spanning roles from inventory control to equipment maintenance — are part of Amazon’s strategy to balance automation with human expansion. Roughly 75% of global deliveries now rely on AI-assisted logistics, yet the company has doubled its local headcount year-over-year. Beyond seasonal demand, Amazon says many of these temporary positions can lead to permanent employment.
The hiring spree also signals confidence in Brazil’s retail recovery ahead of the holiday season, as the company deepens its physical and technological footprint in one of its priority global markets.
