By Brazil Stock Guide – Eve Air Mobility Inc. (EVEX), the Embraer SA (EMBR3) subsidiary focused on urban air mobility, has completed 50 test flights with its electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) prototype in Brazil, marking a key milestone in its development program.
The flights, conducted in Gavião Peixoto, São Paulo state, follow the aircraft’s maiden flight on Dec. 19, 2025, and total more than two hours of flight time. The campaign has generated high-fidelity data used to refine system performance and support the certification process with Brazil’s civil aviation regulator.
“Achieving 50 test flights with our engineering prototype goes beyond a technical milestone. It is clear evidence of the maturity of our program and the robustness of the solutions we are developing,” Chief Executive Officer Johann Bordais said.
He added that the company’s strategy extends beyond aircraft manufacturing. “Eve is uniquely positioned to deliver not only a high-performance aircraft, but also aftermarket services, operational solutions and air traffic management systems that will be essential for scaling urban air mobility,” Bordais said.
The ongoing test campaign is validating the aircraft’s operational capabilities and supporting an integrated approach that combines aircraft development with broader ecosystem readiness, including operators, vertiports and air navigation systems.
Data collected from the flights will feed into the next phase of the program, including the development of conformity prototypes. Eve plans to begin production of these units later in 2026, with a total of six aircraft expected to be used in certification trials.
Following the initial 50 flights, the company is expanding its flight envelope, gradually increasing cruise speed and evaluating energy management, controllability, stability, noise and vibration.
Full transition flights—considered a critical step for eVTOL validation—are expected to take place later this year as the program progresses toward certification and commercial deployment.
