By Brazil Stock Guide – The International Finance Corporation (IFC) and BTG Pactual (BTGP3) have announced a partnership aimed at mobilizing up to $1 billion in joint investments in sustainability projects across Latin America by 2028. The collaboration will focus on social and environmental development, with a particular emphasis on the bioeconomy, including projects in the Amazon region.

BTG Pactual will identify co-financing opportunities, equity stakes, and investments in funds, while IFC will provide financial and technical support. The funds will be directed to initiatives in infrastructure, private equity companies, and conservation efforts. The partnership aims to catalyze long-term sustainable growth in the region by leveraging both organizations’ expertise in financing and technical solutions.

Roberto Sallouti, CEO of BTG Pactual, emphasized that the allocation of resources will be done carefully, ensuring the investments align with technical and financial criteria. “The allocation of these resources will be done with care, adhering to technical and financial standards, ensuring that IFC’s investments promote the changes needed for a more sustainable economy,” Sallouti said.

Alfonso García Mora, IFC’s Regional Vice President for Europe, Latin America, and the Caribbean, also underscored the private sector’s role in advancing climate initiatives. “The private sector can and must be a key player in driving the climate agenda and leading transformative initiatives that improve lives and promote economic growth,” García Mora stated.
