Klabin Secures $230 Million Investment From BTG Pactual and BCI in Plateau Forestry Project

<p>Funding will expand Klabin’s operations across Paraná, São Paulo and Santa Catarina as part of its $520 million Plateau initiative</p>

By Brazil Stock Guide – Aug. 19, 2025 – Klabin SA (KLBN11.SA), Brazil’s largest paper and packaging producer, said it received a R$1.2 billion ($230 million) investment from Banco BTG Pactual SA (BPAC11.SA) and Canada’s British Columbia Investment Management Corp. (BCI) to support its Plateau forestry project. The announcement was reported by Valor Econômico on Tuesday.

The additional funding will be disbursed by the fourth quarter, subject to contractual adjustments, Klabin said in a statement. Including this latest injection, the company has already allocated R$2.7 billion ($520 million) to the Plateau project.

Forestry expansion across three states

The Plateau initiative covers 23,000 hectares of planted forests and 4,000 hectares of productive land across the states of Paraná, São Paulo and Santa Catarina. The company said the investment underscores its strategy of “capital discipline, deleveraging and optimizing returns, consolidating the creation of sustainable value.”
