Latam quarterly profit

By Brazil Stock Guide – Latam Airlines Group SA (LTM) plans to increase domestic flight frequencies in Brazil by 9% in the first half of 2026 compared with the same period a year earlier, as the carrier strengthens its position in Latin America’s largest aviation market.

The expansion will be concentrated at its main hubs in São Paulo — Guarulhos and Congonhas airports — as well as Brasília, while also reinforcing strategic regional markets, particularly in Brazil’s North and South regions.

A key highlight is the Belém–Macapá route, where weekly frequencies will rise from three to eight starting in April. The move is part of what the company describes as a disciplined network strategy focused on sustainable growth.

“The Latam has in recent years invested in the sustainable growth of its network, and the flight increases in this first half reflect a very attentive and rational view of market opportunities,” said Aline Mafra, Latam Brazil’s Director of Sales and Marketing.

All additional flights will be operated using aircraft from the Airbus A320 family. The company noted that the expansion is not linked to its previously announced order for up to 70 Embraer E195-E2 jets from Embraer SA (EMBR3), unveiled in September 2025. Deliveries from the 24 firm orders are expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026, after which Latam will assess potential new regional destinations and further network optimization.

At São Paulo’s Guarulhos airport, Latam will resume regular service to Joinville in May, increase frequencies to Maringá and expand routes to Porto Seguro and Dourados starting in April. At Congonhas, the carrier will add flights to Goiânia and increase service to Curitiba, Belo Horizonte/Confins and Florianópolis between February and April.

In Brasília, frequencies to Curitiba and São Paulo’s Congonhas have already been raised. In southern Brazil, expanded service to Joinville, Curitiba and Florianópolis is aimed at strengthening links with major economic centers. In the Southeast, the Rio de Janeiro/Galeão–Vitória route will see additional flights beginning in May. The company said the schedule adjustments remain subject to operational refinements.
