By Brazil Stock Guide – Logistics operators in Brazil reported a sharp increase in activity during this year’s Black Friday, with a 13% rise in warehousing, distribution, inventory management and cargo transportation compared to 2024.

The industry also saw a 5% to 6% increase in average ticket value for goods moved. According to Abol’s executive director, Marcella Cunha, “Black Friday is now part of the strategic planning for logistics operators serving both e-commerce and brick-and-mortar retail.” She added that “the 2025 Black Friday highlighted the maturity of the relationship between logistics operators and the end customer, with greater understanding from clients about the challenges of peak demand.”

The gains were driven primarily by online retail. Overall Brazilian retail sales rose 1.9% during the week, supported by a 16.1% jump in e-commerce transactions — a record — while physical store sales fell 1.9%.

To handle the surge in cargo flow, logistics companies expanded temporary staffing and extended work shifts. ID Logistics (IDL.PA) reported that all of its e-commerce clients met or exceeded expectations.

Santos Brasil (STBP3.SA) said maritime operations remained strong throughout the year, with a 3% increase in long-haul imports from Asia and a 19% growth in cabotage compared to 2024. The Manaus–Southeast route remained a standout, supported by higher volumes in white-goods categories tied to Black Friday promotions, as well as strong performance in textile and sporting-goods segments.
