By Brazil Stock Guide – Volkswagen Group (XETRA: VOW / B3: VWCO34) recorded its strongest regional performance in South America, where deliveries jumped 14.9% in the first nine months of 2025 to 481,800 vehicles. The upswing was driven primarily by Brazil, which posted a 6.8% increase in unit sales. This regional strength helped lift the Group’s global deliveries to 6.6 million vehicles, up 1.2% from a year earlier .

Volkswagen executives said “significant increases in South America and Europe” more than compensated for the expected declines in China (-4%) and North America (-8%), where the U.S. market remained weighed down by tariff pressures .

Brazil anchors the Latin American recovery

Brazil remained Volkswagen’s largest market in the region, benefiting from resilient demand for compact SUVs and locally produced flex-fuel models. The company maintained steady production at its São Bernardo do Campo (SP) and Taubaté plants while expanding hybrid-assembly programs at Anchieta. Executives said the Brazilian performance was crucial in stabilizing the Group’s global mix as deliveries in other regions softened.

Volkswagen noted that the South American rebound reflects local model renewals and smoother logistics after the supply-chain disruptions that hit the region in 2024.

Electrification gaining traction

Globally, the Group’s shift toward electric mobility accelerated: 717,500 battery-electric vehicles (BEVs)—fully electric models powered solely by batteries—were delivered worldwide, a 41.7% increase year on year. This lifted the BEV share to 11% of total deliveries. While Europe remains Volkswagen’s main BEV hub, the company said demand for hybrid and electric vehicles (EVs)—a broader category that includes both plug-in hybrids and all-electric cars—is rising steadily in South America, especially in Brazil, where ethanol-hybrid policies are supporting consumer adoption .
